Chihuahua Saves Her Family

A tiny Chihuahua named Lucy is responsible for saving the lives of Betty Betts and her son in Dallas, Texas.

Betty was in the living room of her family’s home when she heard Lucy’s barks. At first she thought nothing of it, as Lucy usually barks and grabs her dog leash when she wants to go for a walk. This time, however, Lucy began running back and forth between the living room and kitchen, frantically yipping. Finally, Betty went to the kitchen to investigate. She heard a slight creaking noise coming from outside, and when she peered out the window, she noticed the pecan tree in her front yard was split down the trunk and teetering towards the house. Betty grabbed Lucy and yelled at her son to get out of the house. Not moments later, the tree crashed through the roof, destroying the kitchen and most of the living room.

Betty and her son owe their lives to Lucy, and claim they will forever be grateful for her loyal companionship
