Common Dog Care Mistakes

No matter how loving and patient you may be with you dog, you cannot always avoid making an honest mistake in pet care. Here are some tips to avoid some of the most common errors.

1. First and foremost, when deciding on a breed, always do plenty of research into the needs and behaviours of the breed you’re interested in. 2. Puppy proof your home! 3.Never punish your dog for something he/she has done while you were not at home. The dog will not understand why it is being punished unless caught in the act. 4. Never make a big fuss about leaving your dog alone, or returning home to your dog. This will only cause separation anxiety, as the animal will feel that being left alone is a big deal and something to worry about. 5. Never leave your dog alone in the car, especially in hot weather. 6. Use a dog harness instead of just a leash and collar when walking your dog, especially small dogs.
