DeGeneres’ Dog Drama Continues

Ellen DeGeneres returned to her talk show yesterday after taking time off to cope with the public reaction to her recent dog drama.

The comedian took the extended weekend after breaking down in tears on her show last week over after complications with a dog adoption agency. DeGeneres had adopted a dog, Iggy, from the shelter that didn’t fit in well at her home. Trouble ensued when she gave the Brussels Griffon mix terrier to her hairdresser, breaking her contract with the shelter. The agency reclaimed the dog from the hairdresser’s family, resulting in DeGeneres making her tearful on-air plea.

DeGeneres recently stated that she hopes her experience with the dog adoption agency won’t deter people from finding pets at shelters.
